The Lamplighter Restaurant is evolving. Established in 1970 by Nick Castronova, the Lamplighter quickly became a favorite of local Rochester residents as well as out-of-town clientele. Continental cuisine highlighted by Italian specialties make that romantic dinner for two or party for fifty an event you won't soon forget.
In July of 2015, long time employee Lisa Seifert purchased the restaurant from Castronova. After making some cosmetic changes to bring the décor up to date, while still keeping the warm and cozy feel that everyone has come to love over years, Lisa reintroduced the restaurant as her own.
In February of 2019, the Lamplighter happily announced Michael Seifert as their new Executive Chef. Michael has over 13 years of culinary experience and was previously the Sous Chef and Executive Chef at Branca in Bushnell’s Basin. Michael’s passion for cooking started at a young age while in the kitchen making homemade pasta with his father and grandmother, and inherited his passion for the restaurant business from his mother, Lisa. He believes in using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients whenever possible and giving customers the “this is the best I’ve ever had!” experience.
Previous Executive Chef, William (Elliott) Rodwell, who has been with the Lamplighter for over 26 years, now has a part-time role in the kitchen alongside Michael, and the two make a great team!

The wine offerings at the Lamplighter Restaurant have been carefully selected by our experienced staff to provide you with a wide variety of white, red, and sparkling wines. Our staff will happily assist you in pairing a bottle of wine with your meal, to enhance the flavor of each bite.

Our private party room accommodates up to 50 people!
-Private accomodations are guaranteed for parties of 25 or more
-We will open for luncheon parties any day of the week for 30 or more
-The entire restaurant can be reserved between the hours of 10 am - 3 pm, maximum capacity is 80 people
For 50 years, we've been offering a full assortment of banquet options, crafting menus for buffets, sit down dinners, and hors d'oeuvres. We will handle all of the details according to your specific needs, and will gladly offer helpful advice based on our experience and expertise. We will coordinate all of the details into an occasion that your friends, family and co-workers will talk about long after your event is over.
